Tuoni, fulmini e saette – Thunder, lightning and thunderbolts

Ormai siamo all’anarchia!

English

I’m quite sure that the captain of the Shanghai – Macau flight was a moron.
The weather was very bad, but the landing gear had almost touched the ground, when the plane, suddenly, took off again.

Thereafter it was a nightmare.
The engines seemed to want to explode at any moment, the rain, around nothing but dense clouds, turbulence, thunder, lightning and thunderbolts.

The speaker is silent, the stewardesses are wax sculptures.
Then, suddenly, one Chinese stands up.
In few seconds, the plane turns into a bazaar.

The flight attendants are awakened from their slumber and begin to provide some explanations, strictly in Chinese.
I’m the only Westerner on board.

I grabbed one of them by the arm and ask what is happening.
She replied that, due to bad weather, we can not land.
I would point out that we were already on the runway, when the pilot decided to take off again.
She replies with a simple “I know”.

Meanwhile the chaos expands. Everybody is standing, “barking” something in a language that I do not understand.
I seek refuge in my notebook.

One hour and ten minutes later, we finally landed at Liang Jiang airport.
I have no idea where it is.
We remain on the plane, awaiting further information.

To pass the time I take out my camera.
Stewardess immediately tells me that I can’t take pictures.
I simply answer “I DON’T FUCKING CARE”.
Now it’s anarchy!

After an hour and a half we took off one more time to Macau.
The day went to hell, but at least I’m here to tell it.
