It’ very culture thing.
In my opinion in our culture, the very simple reading about
“ma” is the “blank”.
—So what is the “blank”?
If I see just the while wall and the wet floor in this photograph,
I can agree with it easily. Yes, it is “ma”.
But you showed these characters “LAVAGEM”.
What does it mean?
Is this LAVAGEM room?
I like this wet floor.
It’s very black makes the wall look white.

It’s a car wash located in an underground parking.
I took the picture in Portugal and “Lavagem” means washing in Portuguese.
In my opinion the image epresents well the emptiness.

I feel “emptiness” in this photo even before I understand the word.
It must be read more straightly if I knew the word,
it says loudly “Nothing here”. (Because it washed out.)
