\nImpossibile racchiudere in poche parole un tale gigante.
\nNon vorrei perdermi in lunghe e sterili biografie, oramai alla portata di tutti.<\/p>\n

Ieri sera ho sfogliato di nuovo, con genuina emozione, il suo libro “Passaggi”.
\nDai ritratti alle nature morte, dai cibi congelati ai materiali di strada.
\nI fiori, le sigarette – SPLENDIDE – il fondale ad angolo e le lastre di platino.
\nUn omaggio senza tempo alla semplicit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Una semplicit\u00e0 raffinata ed inarrivabile, cos\u00ec lontana dagli “effetti speciali” dei giorni nostri.
\nUn matrimonio perfetto con la parola che Alexey Brodovitch amava ripetere a Penn ed Avedon: “Stupiscimi!”.<\/p>\n

Irving Penn died.
\nIt’s impossible to frame in few words such a Master.
\nI wouldn’t get lost in a long and unimaginative biography.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday evening, I flip through his book, Passage, once again.
\nFrom portraits to still lifes, from frozen food to street material.
\nFlowers, cigarettes, – SUPERB – backgrounds to form a corner and platinum metals.
\nA timeless homage to simplicity.<\/span><\/p>\n

An elegant and unreachable simplicity, so far away from the “special effects” of today’s photography.
\nA perfect marriage with the words that Alexey Brodovitch used to say to Penn and Avedon: “Astonish me!”.<\/span><\/p>\n
