\nLucio se n’\u00e8 andato pochi giorni prima del suo sessantanovesimo compleanno.<\/p>\n

Ho in testa tante, troppe frasi celebri prese in prestito dalle sue canzoni.
\nMa io, lo sapete bene, rifuggo retoriche e luoghi comuni.<\/p>\n

Cos\u00ec sono tornato al 1978, quando i miei genitori mi portarono ad un concerto di Francesco De Gregori, nel quale, a sorpresa, arriv\u00f2 anche Lucio Dalla.<\/p>\n

“Mi \u00e8 venuto a trovare un amico da Bologna – disse dopo un paio di canzoni il Poeta – e se non vi dispiace…..”<\/p>\n

Ed a noi non dispiacque affatto, perch\u00e9 fu un concerto memorabile.
\nIl mio amore per i cantautori italiani, per le parole e le costruzioni immaginifiche che la nostra lingua concede, nacque in quella calda serata romana.<\/p>\n

Quella sera io scoprii un tesoro. Un luogo tutto mio dove perdermi e ritrovarmi.
\nDove vagare senza meta come un pesce a caccia di pensieri.<\/p>\n

“E’ chiaro
\nche il pensiero d\u00e0 fastidio
\nanche se chi pensa
\n\u00e8 muto come un pesce
\nanzi un pesce
\ne come pesce \u00e8 difficile da bloccare
\nperch\u00e9 lo protegge il mare
\ncom’\u00e8 profondo il mare”.<\/p>\n

Ed il mare \u00e8 davvero profondo quando vuole esserlo.

March 4, 1943.
\nLucio Dalla is gone, few days before his sixty-ninth birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n

In my head too many famous phrases borrowed from his songs.
\nBut, as you know, I don’t like rhetoric and platitudes.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I went back to 1978, when my parents took me to a Francesco De Gregori concert, in which, surprisingly, there was also Lucio Dalla.<\/span><\/p>\n

“A friend of mine came to visit me from Bologna – De Gregori said after a couple of songs – and if you do not mind…..”<\/span><\/p>\n

And we didn’t mind at all, because it was a memorable concert.
\nMy love for Italian music, for the words and imaginative constructions that my language allows, was born in that warm Roman night.<\/span><\/p>\n

That night I discovered a treasure. A place all mine where I can lose and find myself.
\nWhere I can wander aimlessly like a fish chasing thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It ‘s clear
\nthat thoughts bother
\neven if those who think
\nare dumb as a fish
\nindeed a fish
\nand as fish is difficult to stop
\nbecause he’s protected by the sea
\nhow deep is the sea”.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the sea is very deep when it wants to be.
