Tanto di cappello al popolo lituano per la paziente, tenace determinazione con la quale ha risposto all’arroganza – e alle ruspe – del regime sovietico, ribadendo insistentemente al suolo quelle croci che sì tanto timore provocarono all’ateo comunismo staliniano.

Evidentemente, anche in tema di ruspe, torna d’attualità la massima orwelliana, per cui, seppur nell’eguaglianza meccanica, alcune ruspe sono più maledettamente uguali delle altre.

Hats off to the Lithuanian people for the patient, tenacious determination with which they replied to the arrogance – and to the bulldozers – of the Soviet regime, insistently tearing down on the ground those crosses that so much fear caused to the atheist Stalinist communism.

Evidently, even about bulldozers, the Orwellian statement is revitalized by current events, therefore, though in the mechanical likeness, some bulldozers are more bloody equal than others.
