Alle quattro di un pigro martedì pomeriggio – At 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday

English

Don’t worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday.

Potere e bellezza di gioventù – Power and beauty of youth

English

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind.
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they’ve faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now.
How much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked.
You are not as fat as you imagine.

English

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

Un caro amico – come l’indovino – mi disse – A dear friend – as a fortune teller – told me

English

First day of school, with the fall just around the corner.
Last night I was thinking to the value of the generic word happiness.

One day a dear friend – as a fortune teller – told me: “If chance doesn’t exist, we are probably in the best condition of life that life allows. You have everything you need to be happy and even so much, as I imagine, to dream”.

Today, I wanna thank that friend.
After many months and many questions, his words, at least for a moment, have removed all doubts.

Due giorni di riflessione – Two days of breathing space

Elementi leggeri in armonia contrapposta.

English

It ‘s a liquid substance, made of water and air. Light elements in opposite harmony.

An original skyline, at the mercy of a gray covering all its possible nuances.

A quiet and peaceful image, like the last two days of breathing space.
Like the wonderful, desperate need of the Angel with black hair.

E’ ora di voltare pagina – It ‘s time to turn the page

English

After 41 days it’s time to turn the page. Since last night no more cervical collar.
I took away a couple of days to the doctor’s prescriptions. I hope this won’t be the end of the world.

Everyone has his own theories and now I regret not having followed my own.

My neck is very stiff. I’ll need a lot of rehabilitation.
With a little prudence I could have “moved” before.
But it seems that the only people entitled to personalized treatments – leading to miraculous recoveries – are professional athletes.

The others have to follow Siddhartha’s footsteps: think, wait and fast.
