The world that ceaselessly caresses my eyes

Momenti unici, sguardi intensi, stanchezza passeggera.

Buon Compleanno Photogeisha!

ENGLISH

I’m still here to play with the simplicity. Soft lines, hints of color, imperceptible movements, justified and unjustified absences.

I did it for years; this is the sixth we spend together.
Unique moments, intense eyes, temporary tiredness. Missteps of youth and memory.

Doubts dispelled as pearls collected on the seashore.

With this hunger that grabs me in the evening and make me tell the world that ceaselessly caresses my eyes.

Happy Birthday Photogeisha!

Bianco Pa(n)nama – White Panama

The white, once in a while, comes to look for me.

So after White Lhasa – https://umbertostefanelli.com/photogeisha/?p=4275 – and White Cadiz – https://umbertostefanelli.com/photogeisha/?p=5322 – now it’s time for White Panama.

To be continued…

Between the devil and holiness is the same, as long as there is room

Grazie mille Vasco!

You know that I don’t like the famous quotes, but in this case is really inevitable… Just us…

“Between the devil and holiness is the same, as long as there is room”.

Thank you very much to Vasco Rossi.

As often says my dear friend Andrea:

“The tide, however high, always goes back.
In the meantime try not to drown.”

Pensieri ben più grandi di noi – Thoughts far greater than us

Sabato pomeriggio, ore diciannove e zero zero.

Obscure meanings; pearls of wisdom contaminated by feelings left to soak in thoughts far greater than us.

A leap into the unknown, between brick walls and windows in a strange single file.

Il Re Martini – The King Martini

ENGLISH

Just back from a barefoot pilgrimage spent in London’s bars and speakeasy, I struggle while unsuccessfully trying to pin down some of the astonishing alcoholic impressions.

I shall kick off at the Nightjar, with the icy, amazingly skillful Martina Breznanova.
With her immaculate look she engages in an heroic-erotic crescendo of quirky, emotional mixology.

Then move to the unfairly famous Artesian Bar where “the Art” is so clearly dependent on the business that it is annoying.

A call in olden days style at the Savoy is pure class.
Hand cut crystal clear ice in a place where the guest is made feeling at the center of a wonderfully retro universe – even if that guest is obsessed with the King Martini and has some eccentric habits such as leaving it to refrigerate for at least 24 hours. GULP!

But the artistic-alcoholic apotheosis was found at the two state-of-art bars of the Connaught Hotel: Coburg and Connaught.
An unexpected welcoming and an insane attention to details. Hospitality to the nth degree.

Old Fashioned, Bentley NO.2, Fleurissimo, Yellow Submarine to die for, and a Gran Finale with the ultimate experience of the Martini Trolley that left my senses and passions – both as a traveller and as cocktails amateur – befuddled, leaving me in a paradise of Hemingway-ean memories.

The pride of people who left an unfair, grievous motherland to refine the genius and the wildness Made in Italy to the highest levels.

Special thanks in a strict random order to Enrico, Giorgio, Luca, Antonio, Lorenza e Cyrielle.

“Per aspera ad astra”, guys. And obviously…CHAPEAU!
