Un’ottima giornata per la mia Polaroid – A very good day for my Polaroid

It has been a very good day for my Polaroid. The first one since I arrived in Japan.
Recently I didn’t have such a good relationship with this camera.

Missing my station was a good way to reverse the course.
The clear light of morning, the delicate shadows, the seaside air, my friend Kumi and Koichi san, the warm hospitality of Mrs. Hisako, Yutaka and his family and a rotemburo overlooking the ocean, revealed again the magic.

I have no scanner with me, so you’ll have to take my word for it.
In the meantime, have a look at the huge 5D files.
As you can see, wakame seaweed is still in season.

Una bianca, buona Pasqua – A white, Happy Easter

Mi appresto ad una settimana fuori porta. L’ultimo atto del mio reportage “On the rail”.
Iwaki, Amanohashidate, Kinosaki e Osaka.

I am going out of town for one week. The last part of my reportage “On the rail”.
Iwaki, Amanohashidate, Kinosaki and Osaka.

I wish you a white, Happy Easter.

PARADOX

Mi sarei tuffato in quei neri profondi, fino a riempirmi d’inchiostro.

1 secondo, varie esposizioni, fantasia e talento da vendere.
Lui è Tokoro Yukinori, grande fotografo e caro amico, http://www.tokoroyukinori.com/

Ci siamo capiti comunque. Evidentemente l’Arte non conosce barriere.

English

Paradox, one of the best exhibition I’ve ever seen.
I would have dipped into those deep blacks, and fill myself with ink.

Four or five exposures in 1 second, imagination and talent to spare.
He is Tokoro Yukinori, great photographer and dear friend, http://www.tokoroyukinori.com/

My portrait, that he took last year using the same technique, is a masterpiece.

We had lunch together, only me and him.
Usually we communicate through an interpreter, but this time fate has decided otherwise.

We understood each other anyway. Evidently Art knows no barriers.

English

The driver was very exited when he shouted “we go, we go”.

After nearly 9 hours of waiting, the wind and the sea gave us a break.
We could finally cross the Strait of Magellan and go straight to Ushuaia.

With the same spirit, I welcome the Japanese Spring and its mysterious alchemy.

Vestito d’inverno – Winter dress

English

I had almost forgotten Fuji san in its winter dress.
The image I shoot from the car is the prelude to the meeting.

From the cold air, to the hot onsen water with a snowy view.

English

The icy wind keeps blowing.

Aoyama-itchomé temple of Heaven and the last year’s pink rain are still far away, but Perfection requires sacrifice and perseverance.

Perfection must be awaited.

Sushi e alga wakame – Sushi and wakame seaweed

English

My answer to Federico and his carbonara is the best Tsukiji sushi and a miso soup.

Wakame seaweed is in season, wakame sake, instead, remains a distant and forbidden dream.

Roppongi

English

I do not like Roppongi!
Whoever knows me and Roppongi, can easily imagine why.

But the surreal mood of yesterday evening and the first cherry blossoms, have given to her a dress made with its own light.
