Ho in testa tante, troppe frasi celebri prese in prestito dalle sue canzoni.

Buon viaggio Lucio!

March 4, 1943.
Lucio Dalla is gone, few days before his sixty-ninth birthday.

In my head too many famous phrases borrowed from his songs.
But, as you know, I don’t like rhetoric and platitudes.

So I went back to 1978, when my parents took me to a Francesco De Gregori concert, in which, surprisingly, there was also Lucio Dalla.

“A friend of mine came to visit me from Bologna – De Gregori said after a couple of songs – and if you do not mind…..”

And we didn’t mind at all, because it was a memorable concert.
My love for Italian music, for the words and imaginative constructions that my language allows, was born in that warm Roman night.

That night I discovered a treasure. A place all mine where I can lose and find myself.
Where I can wander aimlessly like a fish chasing thoughts.

“It ‘s clear
that thoughts bother
even if those who think
are dumb as a fish
indeed a fish
and as fish is difficult to stop
because he’s protected by the sea
how deep is the sea”.

And the sea is very deep when it wants to be.
Have a safe trip Lucio!

Liquido fuoristrada – A liquid off-road

ENGLISH

Something’s gonna happen.

This large dancing skirt full of light and movement is an evident proof.

Colors as ice in the sun. A painting in liquid off-road.

I begin to be impatient. What about you?

Un lunedì dall’alto – A Monday from the top

ENGLISH

A Monday from the top, created by my morbid curiosity.
Pattern and people to compose an image twelve for x.

An image outside of the stereotypes of this famous Cathedral.
Beholders, seekers and wanderers for necessity or for pleasure.

Few words, but don’t forget that today is Monday.

Oro e arte per Greta – Gold and art for Greta

ENGLISH

A pink bow for Greta, born under the sign of Pisces.

A fulfilled desire. A race against time and against the supposed impossibility.

I wish to her, Michela and Fabio a world full of barefoot fairytales.

A life of gold and art, as the fantasies that we are going to throw into the sky.

Un libero cammino – A free journey

Notte agitata. Mal di testa e sogni a tinte scure.

Viviamo d’ossessioni. Afferrare, conservare, decidere a tutti i costi.

ENGLISH

A restless night. Headache and dark dreams.

We live in obsessions. Grab, keep, taking decisions…..always.
Unnecessary responsibilities on us.

We’re born free and we die free.
So, let’s make sure to have a free journey.

Ritmo, profondità e viaggi immaginari – Rhythm, intensity and imaginary journeys

Vini Naturali Roma. Febbraio 2012.

Delusioni, ripensamenti, conferme e sorprese.

Le mie preferenze vanno a Mlecnik, Cotar, Maule, Paraschos, Zidarich, La Castellada, I Clivi, Bobinet, Corte Sant’Alda, Amerighi e La Visciola. In rigoroso ordine d’apparizione.

Nessuna stregoneria, nessuna strada giusta o sbagliata.

Natural Wines in Rome. February 2012.

An afternoon of digression on grapes vines and wines.
Disappointments, afterthoughts, confirmations and surprises.

My preference went to Mlecnik, Cotar, Maule, Paraschos, Zidarich, La Castellada, I Clivi, Bobinet, Corte Sant’Alda, Amerighi and La Visciola. In strict order of appearance.

Three special things above all others.
The clear smile of Alda Faccio Camerani, the authentic eyes of Beniamino Zidarich and the words between terroir and childhood memories of Mario Zanusso.

Wine doesn’t need mysterious formulas or absolute dogmas.
No witchcraft, nor a right or wrong way of doing it.

Wine must arouse emotions. Like photography.
Harmony of thoughts and communion of senses. Rhythm, intensity and imaginary journeys.

A fairytale, a musical box, a wood crib and a handful of earth and stones in my hand.
This I’d like to find every time I fall in a glass of wine.
Nothing more than that.

L’ingiusto spazio di una vita sola – The unfair space of a single life

In response to comments on the previous post. Very welcome comments.

There is a time to live and a time to die.

To be a father or a son. To wait, suffer, win, regret and to raise altars. To give up, run, hit and drink. To celebrate women and masses.

A time to accept that lost opportunities don’t come back.
Not in the unfair space of a single life.
