Helene la libellula – Helene the dragonfly

ENGLISH

I took advantage of the wedding of my dear friend Elie for a relaxing break in Terracina.

My mood is perfectly represented by the lightness of her daughter Helene, who hovers in the picture like a dragonfly.

I wanna thank them and Jan Erik for the beautiful emotions.

Pensatori che si perdono negli spiragli – Thinkers who get lost in the glimmers

ENGLISH

A Monday in July between fog and artificial light.

The unknown at end of the tunnel.
Other possibilities and other doors.

How my friend Dora would say – http://www.caoscalmodb.blogspot.com/

“Fate of thinkers who get lost in the glimmers”.

I’m one of them.

Il cielo in curva – A bending sky

Il cielo in curva. Strisce bianche sull’asfalto.

ENGLISH

A bending sky. White stripes on the asphalt.

Insane thoughts and preposterous expectations, far beyond the speed and safety limit.

Dogmi assoluti e garagisti di Bordeaux – Absolute dogmas and garagistes of Bordeaux

First Polaroid, now Hipstamatic, force me to face once again the problem of the medium.
Because for some people this is a very big problem.

From June 18th I get comments and emails on my new photographic experimentation.
Compliments and criticisms focused mainly on the form rather than the content.

Those who know me, even only through the pages of this blog, can guess what I think.
The medium is only a tool that we use to achieve a purpose and it should never be identified in the purpose itself.

Photography is a language, the ability to arouse emotions. And that’s an ABSOLUTE DOGMA to me.

I could do a rash but fascinating parallel with the world of wine.
That movement of thought and action represented, at least in its initial phase, from the garagistes of Bordeaux.

Very small winemakers that produce superb wines in the garage.
Here too the secret is not the medium, but the perfect knowledge of the process and especially the obsessive attention to detail.

Let’s make a toast to Jean-Luc Thunevin, one of the involuntary inspirers of this movement and to his Bad Boy.

Photographically speaking I have the “vanity”, the passion and pride to consider myself like a garagiste of Bordeaux.

Lungosenna, scorza d’arancio e ghiaccio – Seine river, orange peel and ice cubes

ENGLISH

I keep chasing and being chased by a relentless nostalgia.

The black frame attends the eye in a walk along the Seine.

I focus on the orange peel and ice cubes, floating placidly in a tumbler of Negroni.

Mi arrendo senza porre condizioni – I surrender unconditionally

ENGLISH

It’s a melancholic summer.
From Kawabata to Tanizaki, from Mishima to Murakami.

Elegant compositions that kill me with nostalgia.
I chase my shadow on the bathroom floor, but any attempt to grasp it is in vain.

I surrender unconditionally, while I keep dreaming about Wonderland.

ENGLISH

A projection of myself on the nervous sea of Barcelona.
This city comes back cyclically in my desires.

I fight against the “banality” of seagulls, to pay homage to my Muse and to her legendary ability to resist temptation.

Passo dopo passo – Step by step

ENGLISH

Almost a TV scene from Malpensa airport.

Once again, the human being seems apparently unimportant.
But, once again, my eye is unable to leave it.

Step by step I enhance my belief.
