Kaesong, l’antica capitale – Kaesong, the ancient capital

Kaesong, l’antica capitale.

ENGLISH

Kaesong, the ancient capital.
Everyday scenes that have little to do with reality to which we are accustomed.

I like what I see. The roads are incredibly empty.
I wish I had more freedom for shooting, but maybe it’s better like this.

No excuses, no judgments, no time to think.
My eye is ready and the words give way to the images.

Pyongyang: di necessità virtù – Pyongyang: make a virtue of necessity

Circostanze casuali.

ENGLISH

Random circumstances. Moments in which I try to mingle with the few people I see.

All the geometries, which often characterize my photography, are quite far away.
The interpretation goes through the elements that separate the foreground from the background.

A less clean composition, but more true and narrative.
I have tried, as never before, to make a virtue of necessity.

Pyongyang e la gelosa custodia della mia memoria – Pyongyang and the jealous guardianship of my memory

ENGLISH

It’s a very difficult challenge to describe the strong and brilliant emotions I experienced in North Korea.

I wanna start with a photograph that is particularly close to my heart.
An image stolen from the car window that contains, for composition and colors, all the mystery and enchantment of Pyongyang.

An “unreal reality”, a subtle flow of souls walking on semideserted streets.
A magnificent and soothing silence that deserves all the respect possible, like this portrait digged out from the jealous guardianship of my memory.

Incontri casuali e colorati – Chance and colorful encounters

ENGLISH

Long walks with chance and colorful encounters.
Pieces of a city and remnants of life that fulfill my eyes and keep my hand warm.

Helsinki, despite the weather, was a very positive digression.

La ragazza con la sciarpa blu – The girl with the blue scarf

ENGLISH

After the lady with the yellow coat and the little girl with the red jacket, here, directly from the cold Helsinki, the girl with the blue scarf.

Sooner or later I’ll complete the rainbow of colors and clothing.

Un viaggio favoloso in Nord Corea – A fabulous trip to North Korea

ENGLISH

I’m back on line after a fabulous trip to North Korea.
A week without mobile phone and internet connection. Wonderful!

I’m back in Beijing, waiting for the flight to Helsinki.
Some days in the Finnish capital, then I’ll tell you my “North Korean tale”.

A little “photographic appetizer” to apologize for my absence.
From tomorrow we start again with the usual pace.
