La semplicità delle cose semplici – The simplicity of simple things

ENGLISH

Today, for some reason, I would love to have a Teppanyaki meal.
That’s easier said than done, here in Italy.

But in the kitchen, as well as in photography and even more in life, never give up.
A little of improvisation, a hint of fantasy and the “photographic lunch” is ready.

All my senses celebrated, one more time, the symphony of this very unusual déjà vu.

The art of Teppanyaki. The triumph of quality. The antithesis of the ugly concept of “all-you-can-eat”.
Once again perfection is enhanced, by the simplicity of simple things.

ENGLISH

My Muse is in a maze of silence, between remembrances and desires on their way to the off beaten paths of memory.

Trapped in the limbo of an evolving idea, she patiently waits the rise of the curtain, to enlighten the mirror of cotton and cellulose which reveals the magic, making it available to everyone.

Oltre i limiti e l’amarezza delle aspettative mancate – Beyond the limits and bitterness of missed expectations

Abbandonatevi all’istinto e all’improvvisazione.

ENGLISH

Expectations are a recurring theme in recent days.
It’s wrong to build your life on them. You risk a huge disappointment.

Embrace the instinct and the improvisation. The uncertain and voluptuous step of a drunk man after the fourth glass of wine.
Give yourself to the wind, without asking where you’re going. After all who cares.

New, interesting revelations await you, beyond the limits and bitterness of your missed expectations.

Impressioni e luci a tinte calde.

ENGLISH

Let’s start the week with my last impression of Paris.
Impression and light in warm colors.

Messy notes on my notebook. Signs and drawings apparently meaningless.
Sybaritic pleasures and postponed encounters in front of a great bottle of Bordeaux de garage.

Class is a rare quality and the French people are masters in this subject.

Un sorriso senza se, senza ma e senza forse – A smile with no ifs, no buts and no maybes

ENGLISH

Paris is well worth a mass…..even two I would say.
Four steps become eight, then sixteen, thirty-two, sixty-four, and so on.

Le Champ de Mars and the Champs Elysees. The Seine River and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Les Halles, the Pompidou Centre and the Hotel de Ville.
A dinner in the Marais, accompanied by a very good wine from the Loire region.

The photographic experiments I begun in Lyons keep going.
It’s still early for the showdown, but the results are encouraging, as the seduction of a smile with no ifs, no buts and no maybes.

Let’s help this smile to get used to me.

Il pellegrino sulla via di Damasco – The pilgrim on the road to Damascus

Grazie infinite caro Paolo e CHAPEAU!

ENGLISH

Another chapter closes, another departure.
It’s already time for balances or maybe not. In any case I do not want to do it.

I’m looking for a “permanent center of gravity” after another fabulous day.

Paolo Roversi’s images make you want to throw your camera against the wall.
He’s the Genie of the lamp that goes with extraordinary naturalness from darkness to light.
Elegance, extraordinary sense of composition and beauty in the purest sense of the word.

A Photographic lesson made with the “heart”. The only thing needed for the pilgrim on the road to Damascus.

Thank you very much dear Paolo and CHAPEAU!

Merci beaucoup mes amis!

English

I bow in front of French “friends”, for the attention and emotions they gave me yesterday afternoon.
They went amazingly in tune with my words and even more with my images.

I was touched, I was surprised, I was immensely pleased.

The gala dinner at Paul Bocuse Restaurant – FANTASTIC – was the icing on such a delicious cake.

Thank you very much my friends!
