Kim Ki-Duk

Primavera, estate, autunno, inverno… e ancora primavera.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring.
Kim Ki-Duk directed and painted, with magic hand, the endless rotation of seasons and the eternal circle of life.

A great use of silence, mixed with a gorgeous photographic visions, frame after frame.
Immerse yourselves in this surreal world. I’m sure you’ll love it.

Non è mai per caso – It’s never by accident

I giorni e le notti
suonano
in questi miei nervi
di arpa

vivo di questa gioia
malata di universo
e soffro
di non saperla
accendere
nelle mie
parole.

The days and nights
play
my nerves
of harp

I live this joy
ill of universe
and suffer
not knowing
how to turn it
into words.

This Giuseppe Ungaretti’s poem came back to my mind, thanks to Giuliana.
I love the sentence: “and suffer not knowing how to turn it into words”.

It perfectly describes the pain of somebody who would like to express feelings and emotions somehow.
It’s difficult to succeed in this. And when you do it, it’s never by accident.

BLUE UMBRELLA

English

Lady Luck is blind, but bad luck sees very well, especially during these days, full of rain and with no music.

PINK UMBRELLA

English

I don’t like rain, but poetry is everywhere, also in the little splash of color that breaks the monotony of grey.

Superba è la notte – Superb is the Night

e l’anima si getta all’avventura.
Lui tace nel tuo grembo
come riassorbito dal sangue
che finalmente si colora di Dio
e tu preghi che taccia per sempre
per non sentirlo come rigoglio fisso
fin dentro le pareti.

English

Poetess Alda Merini, one of Italy’s most important poets, died yesterday afternoon in Milan.
I’d like to remember her with one of her poems e with my light drawings.

Superb is the Night

The superbest thing is the night
When the last fears fall
And the soul is thrust into adventure.
He is silent in your womb
As if reabsorbed into the blood
Which at last is hued of God
And you pray that he forever hushes
Not to hear his perpetual presence
Follow you within the walls.

PHNOM PENH

L’ho sognata stanotte Phnom Penh.

English

I dreamed about Phnom Penh last night.
A bad dream, bathed in tears and sweat.

Old and new ghosts wandering around in the evening.
Flashes of memories, as if my mind was blocked from a strong emotional anaesthetic.

The original architecture, the apparent Mekong stillness, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the Khmer Rouge Genocide Museum.

It hurts me a lot Phnom Penh.
Unpleasant feelings that I can’t recall, unless through few bricks, a sad chain or a wild ray of light.
